Pump Track National Championships

Cycling New Zealand are excited to partner with Velosolutions to host the 2025 Pump Track National Championships on Sunday 21 September 2025 in Rotorua, with support from Rotorua Single Speed Society and Rotorua BMX Club.

PROVISINAL SCHEDULE

Pump Schedule of Events – 21st September 2025

Race Format for each division:

Qualifying runs – this will be run in an open session format, length of qualifying session will be determined by the number of riders in each category. Approximately 1 minute per rider

 

Start order for the first run (in session) determined by plate number. - Riders can do as many laps as they want during the session.
•The fastest lap of each rider counts.
•After the open session, the fastest 32 riders advance to the elimination session.
•If there are 31 and less riders in the open session, the fastest 16 advance to the elimination session.
•If there are 15 and less riders in the open session, the fastest 8 advance to the quarter finals.
•If there are 7 and less riders in the open session, the fastest 4 advance to the semi finals

Quarter Finals – Top 4 go through to the semi finals.


Semi Finals – Top 2 advance to the big final
Bottom 2 advance to the small final

 

SMALL FINAL - 3rd / 4th go head to head - Winner gets 3rd place

BIG FINAL – Top 2 go head to head – Fastest rider WINS

ENTRY ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA

  • UCI Categories - Open to NZL riders only (as per your nationality with UCI).
  • All riders are encouraged to be a member of a MTBNZ/CNZ Affiliated MTB Club
  • Minimum age is 17 

LICENCING

  • All riders in UCI categories must hold a 2025 Cycling New Zealand Annual Licence - this licence comes with a UCI ID required to obtain UCI points. Please note, a day licence is not available for this elite category for this event.
  • Click here to purchase a Cycling New Zealand Annual Licence.
  • All riders in the National Championships Non-UCI categories (except under 10s) must hold a 2025 Cycling New Zealand Annual Licence OR pay the additional $10 fee for the Cycling New Zealand One-Day Licence.
  • All riders purchasing a Cycling New Zealand One-Day Licence must agree to the Terms & Conditions here.

Elite - Riders aged 17 or over (as at 31 December 2025)

National Championship medals will be awarded to the first rider in each category.
