The Oceania Track Cycling Championships have been confirmed to continue as a regular annual rotation between New Zealand and Australia.
Accordingly the Oceania Championship and the New Zealand Track Cycling Championships will rotate between the ILT Southland Velodrome at Invercargill and the Grassroots Velodrome in Cambridge.
The Oceania Track Cycling Championships in 2026 will be staged in Cambridge, with the event based at Invercargill in 2028, with the Australian locations to be confirmed.
Therefore next year’s New Zealand Track National Championships will be staged by Cycling Southland at Invercargill for a second straight year, with the current plan to include the New Zealand Masters Championships in to a proposed seven-day programme to comprise all age-groupings.
“RTX is excited at the opportunity to bring all riders together, for the first time in a number of years, to compete at one event. We believe the initiative is a great opportunity to build support and relationships across all age groups and across Aotearoa New Zealand,” said Rachelle Spencer, RTX (Road, Track and Cyclocross) President.
The dates for the 2026 events are still to be finalised.
